Sierra Taylor
Young Children’s Teacher, Piano and Voice
Sierra Taylor is a Connecticut native. She has a Bachelor of Music degree and a Master of Education degree, both in music education from Nazareth University. She has received Orff Schulwerk certification in levels I and II, and is on the board for the Greater Rochester Orff Schulwerk Association (GRAOSA). Sierra has been the music teacher at Genesee Community Charter School - Flour City Campus for three years, using her knowledge and expertise in elementary music education to not only teach music classes, but integrating music in the general classroom curriculum. In her free time, Sierra sings with the Nazareth Chorale.
Sierra believes that every student deserves access to a quality music education, regardless of ability level or cultural background. She is committed to providing a rigorous and engaging curriculum that builds musical skills while fostering perseverance, curiosity, and empathy. While music can support academic areas like literacy and math, Sierra values it for its intrinsic worth and its power to connect and inspire. By incorporating diverse repertoire and providing meaningful cultural and historical context, she helps students explore new perspectives and develop into kind, creative, and contributing members of society.
