Rachel Huchthausen, MM

Rachel Huchthausen is recently graduated with her masters degrees in Collaborative Piano and Early Music at Houghton University. Valuing a well-rounded education and an interdisciplinary approach to music, she double majored in piano performance (student of Dr. William Newbrough) and English literature as an undergraduate student, also at Houghton University. Throughout her undergraduate and graduate years, she has collaborated and performed as a pianist with dozens of singers and instrumentalists and taught piano and violin students ranging from preschool to adult. As a teacher, she aims to integrate considerations of technique and historical context, values of community and performance excellence, and the practicalities of musical rehearsal and habits for life.

When she’s not practicing or reading for school, she loves to read for fun, hike, kayak, go to museums, and have good, slow meals with friends.
